Trip Overview

Our 6 days  Pokhara - Poon Hill Trek is suitable for anyone with reasonable fitness level including children. The highest point on Poon Hill is just 3,210m/10,532ft and so there is no chance of being affected by altitude sickness.

This Annapurna short trek begins with the 25 min short Himalayan flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara and a 1½ hr drive to Nayapul (trail foot). This Poon Hill Trekking circular route, through farmland and rhododendron forest takes two days to reach Poon Hill ( highest point in this path ). You will be greeted by local culture, tradition, custom and warm welcome.

A pre-dawn walk up Poon Hill is rewarded with magnificent sunrise views of the huge Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges to the north and lowland hills to the south. Our trail then leads eastwards, following ridges to Tadapani with plenty of snow-peak views including the iconic Machhapuchhare (Fish Tail, 6,997m/22,957ft). Encounter unique local cultures and customs along the way. The down-trail to Ghandruk, a large stone roofed settlement offer perfect Lunch spot and another an hour short walk brings you to trail head (Ghandruk Phedi). About 2 ½ hrs off road drive following Modi Khola (Modi River) that rises from the glaciers in the Annapurna Sanctuary, brings back you Lake city Pokhara by the afternoon.
